Best gaming deals: Pokemon cards and Epic’s summer sale

Here at Polygon, we only talk about deals and horses, and we’re out of horses. Luckily, there are still plenty of great deals to check out this weekend, including discounts on Pokémon TCG box sets and a free two-month subscription to Apple TV+.

Below we’ve included some of our favorite deals this week in the gaming world, horses, and entertainment, as well as some of the best-selling products that have appeared on Polygon at some point.

The best game deals this week

Right now, Amazon is offering a $20 discount when you purchase $100 worth of eligible Pokémon TCG sets. This offer includes several Collector’s and Elite Trainer Box sets, including Scarlet & Violet Paldea Evolved and Shining Fates. The prices and contents of each box vary slightly, but each set includes a combination of boosters, energy cards, card sleeves, and other essentials to get you started right away (nuggets not included).

Celebrate staying in the shadows with the Steam Stealth Fest. Until July 31, you can save on a number of titles that are all about being a misleading little preview. There are hundreds of discounted titles out there, but some of the highlights we recommend checking out include Hitman World of Assassination, Mark of the Ninja Remasteredand the metal gear parody Non-metallic.

If you prefer sun to shade, the Epic Games Store is also offering great deals as part of its summer sale until August 3. Along with the advertised game discounts, you’ll also get double rewards, giving you 10% on any amount you spend in the Epic Store to apply to any future purchases. Even no-discount games will earn you 10% rewards, including Payday 3.

Some of the titles we recommend checking out as part of this sale include System shock, Kerbal Space Program 2, 2K Lego playerAnd Back to Monkey Island.

Humble has created another great bundle, this time to benefit Active Minds, a non-profit organization promoting mental health awareness and education for young adults. Baldur’s Gate & Beyond Pack lets you choose eight classics J&D titles for only $12.

Even with the frankly staggering number of game deals and sales going on, there are still plenty of games you can buy for the low price and absolutely free. Amazon Prime members can currently redeem Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition, Wytchwood, Star Wars: The Force Unleashedand more for free, in addition to a number of in-game bonuses and cosmetic items for other titles.

However, if you want to play a free game over the weekend, I recommend going to the Epic Games Store, which currently offers the Remastered Homeworld Collection available for free until August 3 at 11:00 a.m. EDT. This collection brings together the original versions of homeworld And Homeworld 2 with their remastered versions, which feature graphical updates and a host of quality of life improvements.
