Demi Lovato has responded to rumors that she is currently engaged to boyfriend Jutes.
The “Cool for the Summer” and “Instruction” singer has reportedly been with Jutes (who was a writer on Lovato’s latest album) for a year and a half now. During a recent concert, Lovato dedicated a song to Jutes and called him “my f…my boyfriend” before laughing.
On her Instagram Stories over the weekend, the musician downplayed any engagement rumors that had arisen from their onstage commentary, writing, “If I was engaged I would announce it!!!!!
“I went and said favorite person and I glitched and said boyfriend instead. Anyway, I’m still obsessed with @jutesmusic and he’s both my fffffff favorite person and my boyfriend !!!”

In March, Lovato marked Jutes’ birthday with a selection of photos from the couple’s relationship on Instagram, writing, “Sweet angel – it’s officially your birthday!!! I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate you because I couldn’t be more in love with your beautiful, funny, sexy and talented self.
“I’ve waited my whole life to find you and can’t wait to celebrate so many more birthdays together…you’re a dream come true and I’m so grateful to call you mine.
“Have the best birthday my love…you deserve it, the world, and more!!!! Here are many more…I LOVE YOU.”
In the comments, Jutes wrote, “My baby…I’m the luckiest guy in the world. Thank you for loving me so much and making me laugh all day. You are my best friend, dream girl and I can’t wait to get old with you. I love you so much.”
In a recent interview, Lovato, who came out non-binary in 2021, reflected on educating others about pronoun usage and decided to re-enact her pronouns in addition to them.
“I constantly had to educate people and explain why I identified with these pronouns. It was absolutely exhausting,” Lovato said. GQ Hype Spain (via The Independent).
“That’s one of the reasons why I feel so comfortable with female pronouns. I’m just tired. But for that very reason, I know it’s important to keep spreading the word. “
Lovato also shared hopes in the interview for more gender-neutral spaces, such as public restrooms, and also greater recognition of gender identity beyond binary when filling out official forms such as government documents. , noting, “You only have two options, male and female, and I feel like none of that makes sense to me.”
