Day one of JATC SS24 saw the show’s debut at Wapping’s Tobacco Dock event space; a series of stunning, beamed rooms with plenty of natural light, all connected to an outdoor courtyard housing JATC’s baristas serving their delicious complimentary treats to enjoy throughout the day.
Great first day at JATC, I liked the new place, nice to be in a living room with so much natural light. Met a good mix of new and current customers. Shoppers from Pure and Scoop commented on how easy and quick the trip was.
Footflow was consistent with last season, with many shoppers commenting on the accessibility of the location. Independent and key buyers came out in force and browsed the products on display, which included over 40 brands new to JATC, including Mitchell and Ness, Beaumont Organic, Face Junkie, Margaret Dabbs, Great Plains London, Miss Sixty, P448, Mou, Nine West, Scholl, Sloggi, Free People.
We were blown away by the success of our first day at JATC. The atmosphere was so nice and relaxed and we met a lot of people throughout the day. We’ve secured 3 new customers who all wrote large orders today, so we’re excited to see what the next few days have in store!
Independents came from across the UK and included Bobby’s Beauty (Bournemouth), Hard Edge (Maidenhead), Jago (Tenby & Narbeth), Nood Boutique Ltd (Chorlton), Rosy Penguin (Edinburgh), Seasons (Clitheroe), The Danish Wardrobe Company (Leamington Spa & Cirencester), The Melrose Company (Jersey), Thirty-Three Boutique (Bournemouth), Verandah (Kensal Rise) and keys such as Fenwick, Hoopers and Jarrolds
he Tobacco Dock is a beautiful place, full of light and character. JATC is super well organized with lots of attention to detail and clear thinking about the experience for both buyer and exhibitors. It was great to spend the day chatting with old and new colleagues and clients.
Juls Dawson said of the day: “We are very pleased with the response to our new venue, both aesthetically and fit for purpose, but also its accessibility, particularly as that it’s only a mere 40 minute trip on TFL from Kensington yesterday was just a great first day and it’s so nice as a team when everything falls into place and goes so well for everything the world. We thrive on positive feedback from buyers and brands and it is worth it.
Loved visiting JATC on Sunday at the new Tobacco Dock venue. A great opportunity to meet new and existing brands in a relaxed environment. Well laid out with good light, free food and drinks as a bonus. Picked up some potential new brands. A good day at work! Definitely worth the detour.
Our lifestyle and beauty zone grew with 90% of exhibitors new to JATC, showcasing a mix of brands: beauty, jewelry, skincare and wearables. We have our inaugural accountability powwow session today hosted by industry stalwarts Kathy O’Driscoll and Simon Platts, followed by a drop-in session tomorrow in our accountability zone, so this will give everyone a chance to learn something new on a subject so critical to the future of our industry”
We had a great first day at JATC. Fabulous new venue, such a great atmosphere. We met some lovely new customers and some of our fabulous existing customers. Thank you to the JATC team for making us feel so welcome and being part of the show community. I’m really looking forward to Monday and Tuesday.
JATC offered the opportunity to meet potential future brand offerings while showcasing NPD in the brands we already have in stock. Thanks to the hospitality and hospitality teams for looking after us and to the brand reps for showcasing their brands with so much passion, knowledge and energy. Looking forward to the next one!
