Celebrate French aviation with new Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) cities and Latécoère 631
THE Microsoft Flight Simulator The team is thrilled to present the free City II: France update, which captures five beautiful cities: Amiens, Angers, Nantes, Nimes, and Reims; and to celebrate the Paris Air Show, the update also includes the famous Paris-Le Bourget Airport (LFPB) in standard and festival configurations.
City Update II: France
Some highlights of each city:
- Amienslocated in northern France, is home to Amiens Cathedral, the largest Gothic cathedral in France.
- Angersin the western region, is famous for the imposing cathedral of Angers and its castle with black and white walls.
- Nantesnear the Atlantic coast just west of Angers, invites aerial exploration of its myriad architectural exhibits along the Loire and the castle of the Dukes of Brittany.
- Nimesin the south of France, offers an incredible collection of Roman-era architecture, including the Arènes de Nîmes, an amphitheater that still hosts performances in front of large audiences.
- Reimslocated 80 miles northeast of Paris, boasts some of the best examples of French Gothic architecture, including Reims Cathedral.
Paris-Le Bourget Airport (LFPB), landing site of Charles Lindbergh’s historic 1927 solo transatlantic crossing in the Spirit of St. Louis and current host of the 2023 Paris Air Show.

Local Caption 09: Latécoère 631
To celebrate the proud history of French aviation, the Microsoft Flight Simulator Also launching today Local Legend 09: the Latécoère Model 631, a six-engine, all-metal, high-wing seaplane designed and manufactured by the French company Latécoère Corporation. This plane represents a great source of French national pride. The large model 631 with elegant shapes took flight on November 4, 1942.
The Model 631 was the largest seaplane in the world for several years. Only the American Hughes H-4 Hercules “Spruce Goose”, which flew only once on November 2, 1947, and the British Saunders-Roe Princess, which made its maiden flight on August 22, 1952, were more big. As the last of the large transoceanic airliners, the Model 631 flew until the mid-1950s.
The Latécoère 631 model will be available for $14.99 and comes with 16 liveries.
