A thriller question for the history books: Did Meryl Streep kill Paul Rudd? Hulu has released the first trailer for the upcoming third season of its comedy-mystery series “Only Murders in the Building.” Along with its lead detective trio of Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, Streep and Rudd join the cast in the crime-focused season behind the scenes of a Broadway show.

The cast also includes Nathan Lane, Michael Cyril Creighton, Vanessa Aspillaga, Tina Fey, Adina Verson, Ryan Broussard, Jackie Hoffman, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, James Caverly, and more. Season 3 premieres on Hulu on Tuesday, August 8 with weekly releases to follow.
The “Lando” series gets a new writing team
Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’
‘Lando’ rises from limbo: Two and a half years after it was announced in December 2020, the upcoming Disney+ series has struck a deal with Donald Glover and his brother Stephen Glover to take over as the project’s writers. (The deal was reportedly done before the strike, so all of the work is pending a larger SAG-AFTRA/WGA and AMPTP deal.) The duo will succeed Justin Simien as ‘Star Wars’ series scribes. following the smooth passer Lando Calrissian.
It’s still unclear if Glover will reprise his “Solo: A Star Wars Story” portrayal of the character or if the show will cast a new actor. A premiere date is also still unknown at this time.
Paramount+ has released the first official trailer and key art for the upcoming young adult film “Love in Taipei,” coming to the platform Thursday, August 10 in the US and Canada and Friday, August 11. in the UK and Australia.

Rejoice, Gemheads: HBO has announced the renewal for Season 4 of its hit comedy series ‘The Righteous Gemstones’. Created by Danny McBride, the series follows a family of world-renowned televangelists whose spoiled brats finally get their wish to take over the Church and discover that their extravagant lifestyle takes a heavy toll. Danny McBride, Adam Devine, John Goodman, Edi Patterson, Cassidy Freeman, Tim Baltz and many more stars.

Hulu orders untitled documentary about Wayne Brady and his family
One of showbiz’s hardest-working comedians will soon give a glimpse into what life is like when it’s not all work. This week, Hulu announced an untitled docuseries centered around the star of stage and screen, host “Let’s Make a Deal” and “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” actor Wayne Brady and the realities of an unexpectedly hyphenated life. According to the logline, “the series offers an intimate look into the personal lives of her blended family, revealing unexpected perspectives and values that most people (including her own family) struggle to understand.”
A release date has not been announced.
‘Telemarketers’ docuseries coming to HBO
HBO dives for 20 years into one of the most hated and lucrative professions in the country. The three-part docuseries “Telemarketers,” produced by “Uncut Gems” directors Benny and Josh Safdie and “The Righteous Gemstones” creator/star Danny McBride, will debut on HBO and Max in August, chronicling “ the darkly comic, unexpected 20-year-long journey of two unlikely office buddies, who uncover the dark truth behind the work they did at a seedy New Jersey call center – persuading people to give money to charity – and vow to expose America’s twisted telemarketing industry from the inside. “

All three “Telemarketers” episodes will debut on HBO and Max on Sunday, August 13 at 10 p.m. ET/PT with new episodes weekly through Sunday, August 27.
“Jigen Daisuke” Coming to Prime Video in October
Prime Video has its sights set on its next target: the Amazon streamer has announced that it will exclusively premiere the upcoming Amazon Original movie “Jigen Daisuke” in October. The live-action film follows the main character, the most popular manga and anime series Monkey Punch “Lupin III”. Tetsuji Tamayama will star as Lupin’s cool, loyal, and sad sniper and apprentice, reprising his role from the live-action adaptation of 2014’s “Lupin III.”
