Primark has extended its click-and-collect trial to 32 additional stores, enabling consumers in Greater London to shop online for the first time across the fashion retailer’s extensive range of children’s and childcare products.
The click-and-collect trial, launched in November 2022, started with 25 stores in the North West of England, South and West Yorkshire and North Wales, including Manchester, Liverpool, Blackburn, Carlisle, Sheffield and Wrexham.
Primark said at the time the service was being introduced to satisfy what it called “unmet demand”, while attracting existing and new customers to drive additional in-store sales.
The roll-out in London will mean stores, including flagship Primark on Oxford Street, as well as Bluewater, Lakeside and Westfield White City and Stratford shopping centres, will offer click-and-collect on more than 1,500 products, as well as smaller locations like Tooting and Woolwich.
The launch comes ahead of the start of the school year and will allow customers to shop online from a wide range of children’s clothing and nursery products, such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and pajamas, before picking them up at their designated store on the day of their choice.
Kari Rodgers, UK Retail Director at Primark, said in a statement: “This is a really exciting time for us as we take our Click+Collect trial to the next level and bring it to 32 of our stores in and around London. This means the service is now available in around a third of our UK stores, giving even more customers the choice and convenience of Click+Collect offers and a complementary experience across our stores.
“The feedback we’ve received from customers in stores already in the trial has been really encouraging, so we’re looking forward to learning more as we expand the trial.”
The rollout follows Primark’s announcement that it plans to lower the price of hundreds of its popular autumn/winter children’s clothes to help boost family finances during the cost of living crisis.
