The studio behind The Surge and Lords of the Fallen is back with Atlas Fallen. It’s the brand new action-RPG from Germany-based developer Deck13, owned by Focus Entertainment.
Atlas Fallen seems to fall into good, but not great territory on GameSpot’s sister site, Metacritic. The action-RPG has a metascore of 64 at the time of publication based on 32 reviews. While reviewers note that the story and overall gameplay may not be doing anything new, they generally highlight the fun combat.

— Jason Hon [Full review]
IGN- 7/10
“Atlas Fallen is a solid open-world action-RPG with plenty of platforming and big monsters to fight. Aside from its weak story and the grainy graphics of the console versions, there’s a hidden gem of excellent combat , robust exploration and surprisingly deep customization to discover in the shifting sands of its arid desert.” — Gabriel Moss [Full review]
Square pusher – 7/10
“Atlas Fallen is a valiant effort from Deck13 Interactive that will go down as its best game yet. With fantastic traversal and a fun and engaging combat system, the developer has nailed the gameplay in every way. What holds the experience, however, is a lack of polish to iron out technical issues and potentially long loading times.” — Liam Croft [Full review]
RPG website – 6/10
“Atlas Fallen is an average action-RPG with interesting Momentum combat mechanics, respectable open-world design, poor presentation, and a disappointing narrative. In some ways, it feels like a step down from The Surge titles. , and I’m still looking forward to what Deck13 works on next, but Atlas Fallen didn’t land as hard for me as I hoped.” — Adam Vitale [Full review]
GamesHub- 2/5
“The first time you’re given the chance to surf a sand-covered mountain in Atlas Fallen is invigorating. You immediately want to do it again, and you can. Wherever there’s sand, you can surf and slide, and jump great distances while admiring the stunning skyline. A moment like this does not exist for the game’s combat. And when lackluster combat forms the bulk of the Atlas Fallen loop , it’s that much harder to find the motivation to keep exploring everything else the world has to offer.” — Edmond Tran [Full review]
