Come dance strictly Star Kevin Clifton has revealed plans to “take a break” from performing in a bid to spend more time with his daughter Minnie Dooley.
The professional dancer welcomed Minnie, his first child, with his girlfriend and classmate Strictly star Stacey Dooley earlier this year.
However, Clifton admitted he has been busy non-stop over the past few months and hopes to end the year with his family.
Speaking exclusively with digital spyClifton admitted he plans to take a career break later in 2023 once his tour of Strictly Ballroom The Musical drew to a close.

“I left Come dance strictly and then COVID happened,” he explained. “Then since we came out of COVID, I kind of went back to back with different shows nonstop.
“It came Sing in the rain, rock of ages, War of the Worlds, burn the groundso i did Games on ITV, Who do you think you are? then back to Sing in the rain on tour. Then I started rehearsals for Ballroom strictly the day after i finished Sing in the rain.”
“When I’m done in mid-July, it will have been a 10-month tour of Ballroom strictly“, Clifton revealed. “So since we came out of COVID, it’s just back to back nonstop. So, for the rest of this year, I’ve decided to take a break from all acting work just to be a dad. I don’t want to miss any of Minnie. So, yes, my plan is to take a break as soon as this contract ends.”

However, before that, fans can catch Clifton in Ballroom strictly as music production continues to rotate in the UK. The dancing star recently shared her excitement for the theater show, praising her co-star, Coronation Street actress Faye Brookes.
Clifton will also hit our screens soon with his episode of Who do you think you are? arrives on BBC One. The episode will see the former Strictly star explores her family’s history as her ascending journey takes her “halfway around the world.”
