group A
Remaining matches
Switzerland ($2.10) vs New Zealand ($3.75): 5 p.m., Sunday, July 30
Norway ($1.10) vs Philippines ($21): 5 p.m., Sunday, July 30
What result each team needs to qualify
Swiss: A win or a draw against the Kiwis would suffice. If they lose, they are counting on the Philippines to cause a big upset against Norway.
New Zealand: All Whites fans will have a very nervous evening ahead of them on Sunday. They will certainly qualify with a win, a loss excluding them immediately. A draw would suffice in the unlikely event that the Philippines force a draw with Norway, but don’t beat them.
Philippines: Need a win to qualify, but a loss will see them eliminated. A draw will suffice if Switzerland beat New Zealand but will see them out in the event of a draw.
Norway: The Swiss have to beat the Kiwis, then they have to count the minnows from the Philippines. A loss or draw would see them eliminated.
Group B
Remaining matches
Canada ($3.15) vs Australia ($2.20): 8 p.m., Monday, July 31
Republic of Ireland ($3.10) vs Nigeria ($2.20): 8 p.m., Monday, July 31

Australian midfielder Katrina Gorry will be crucial to the Matildas’ chances when they take on Canada in a must-see clash at their home World Cup
What result each team needs to qualify
Australia: The Matildas face an unmissable matchup against Canada on Monday, in what is a tantalizing prospect for neutral football fans. A win would guarantee a passage to the Round of 16, while a draw could also be enough. For that to be the case, Nigeria would have to lose to Ireland – and then it’s a matter of goal difference, with Australia trailing the African giants. Lose and it’s over.
Canada: A win or draw against the Matildas would secure their spot. If they lose, they can still go through a tiebreaker if Nigeria loses as well.
Nigeria: A draw or a win against Ireland would be enough to secure their place. If they lose, as long as Canada beats Australia, the Super Falcons will go through.
Republic of Ireland: Out.

What result each team needs to qualify
England: Already qualified and will top the group even if they lose to China.
Denmark: Will progress if they beat Haiti, as expected, and a draw will suffice as long as England beat China.
China: Need to beat England. If they draw, they will have to rely on world No. 53 Haiti to beat 13th-placed Denmark.
Haiti: Not irrelevant, but minnows should beat Denmark, hope England beat China and wait for tiebreakers.

Vietnam ($41) vs Netherlands ($1.01): 5 p.m., Tuesday, August 1

What result each team needs to qualify
UNITED STATES: A win or draw against Portugal would see them through.
The Netherlands: A victory or a draw against Asian minnows, Vietnam would be enough to pass. If they lose, as long as the United States beats Portugal, they will still pass.
Portugal: Need to create a big upset and beat the defending champions, USA. A draw would be enough if Vietnam could somehow earn one of the greatest underdog wins of all time by winning against the Netherlands.
Vietnam: Out.
Group F

Jamaica ($15) vs Brazil ($1.18): 8 p.m., Tuesday August 2

France captain Wendie Renard celebrates after the team’s 2-1 win over Brazil on July 29
What result each team needs to qualify
France: A win or a draw would see one of the tournament’s hopefuls gone – all they need is Panama, although the country’s men’s team have certainly suffered a gargantuan upset from a minnow. Could still pass if they lose if Jamaica somehow beat Brazil.
Jamaica: It’s simple, if they win or draw, they will qualify. The problem is that they will have to overtake the eternal challengers from Brazil, who are in superb form.
Brazil: Will qualify if they can, as expected, represent Jamaica. A draw would be enough if Panama managed to beat France,
Panama: Out.
Group G

South Africa ($5) vs Italy ($1.58): 5 p.m., Wednesday August 2

Sweden have already qualified for the Round of 16 thanks to two solid wins already
What result each team needs to qualify
Sweden: Have already qualified after two big wins against South Africa and Italy, respectively.
Italy: Need to report to South Africa, and they will pass. A draw would also suffice provided Sweden get the job done on Argentina. Lose? Then they went out.
South Africa: Need to beat Italy after unexpectedly drawing Argentina earlier in the tournament.
Argentina: Must win, but even then they would still need an unlikely draw between Italy and Bayana Bayana.
Group H

German superstar striker Alexandra Popp celebrates her goal against Morocco on July 24
What result each team needs to qualify
Germany: Move on to the next step with a win over Colombia on Sunday night as Morocco beat South Korea earlier in the day.
Will qualify with a win against Colombia if Morocco avoid defeat against Korea Republic.
Colombia: If they beat Germany, they qualify. But probably they will still go through if they draw or lose, given that they will face Morocco in the last game, which they are expected to win.
South Korea: If Germany beat or drew against Colombia – and they are strongly favored to do so – the South Koreans would be eliminated.
Morocco: A 1-0 win over South Korea keeps them alive, in what was a historic victory. Sadly, they will still be knocked out in their very first World Cup if they lose to Colombia, but they’re still there.
